The Spanish version of the Bible was made by Casiodoro de Reina, a Spanish Protestant cleric. He created his version translating the Bible directly from Hebrew and Greek texts, thus it is considered one of the most faithful renderings of the Bible in the Spanish language. The first edition of this version featured a bear on its cover, and for that reason it is known as Biblia del Oso (Bible of the Bear). Reina's Bible was then revised by Cipriano de Valera, whose version, the Reina-Valera, is still used and recognized by most Protestant and Evangelical Spanish-speaking Christian Churches. Reina's historically important translation of the Bible is offered to you by BibleMaximum as a module for their Biblemax program.
